Dear Sir / Madam, It is that time of year again, the 2012 cricket season is fast approaching and it is a season the club is looking forward to full of optimism. After a successful year in the Championship last year (finishing 3rd) the 1st XI will again be looking to challenge for promotion back to the Premiership during 2011. Meanwhile, the 2nd XI will be hoping to build on last seasons return to the Premiership 2. The last few years have seen many changes but 2010 was a turning point for the club and we have gone from strength to strength. During the last year we have seen unbelievable numbers of juniors come to the club in all our teams which are the Under 9s, 11s, 13s, 15s & 17s leagues and has hundreds of local youngsters playing, both boys and girls. Last season,again our junior sides were successful with both the under 15s and u17s winning the league cup competitions as well has having players selected for Huddersfield in all age categories. Out of these teams many of the players played senior cricket at both 1st & 2nd team level. We are keen to develop as a club and are working hard on a number of different fronts to improve our current offering. We have real ambition to produce county cricketers and to have strong senior teams comprising of the talented local youngsters that we have. For us to be able to develop it is important that we make both on and off the field improvements and for this we need investment. Unfortunately, as we all know, raising funds for any local organisation is always a challenge and whilst our club has always tried to remain self-funded it is inevitable that we do need a certain level of sponsorship. As a club we do not receive any money from the bar takings etc at the Community Centre and it essential that we raise our own funds. To get 1 senior cricket game on costs approximately £250 so you can see how expensive it is to run 2 teams as well as a full junior section. We appreciate that money is hard earned, yet easily spent, especially in the current economic climate, however we would appreciate any kind of sponsorship you may be able to afford us. We therefore plan to ensure that for any sponsorship, we will make every effort to publicise your company as best we can. We currently have a range of sponsorship opportunities that we would like to encourage you to consider and you can see these on our successful website www.melthamcc.co.uk. However just think of how many people you can reach via our club, people of all ages who are all local to you. Whilst these form the basis of our normal sponsorship methods we are always open to suggestion and would welcome any new ideas / suggestions for the future. For an idea of costs please contact us and we are willing to negotiate on any of our sponsorship options.
