6/6 v Kirkburton

No play due to rain.

3/6 v Green Moor (Cup 2nd round)

After a late start at Green Moor as half of the team were lost trying to find the ground, Green Moor went from 27 after 5 overs to only 34 after 12 before crawling to 62-8 in their overs. Main wicket takers were Holly Armitage 3-1 and Jack Hinchliffe 2-5. This total provided no problems as the total was reached for the loss of one wicket in the 9th over with Chris Hinchliffe 26* and Alec Jakeman 19*. The team remain unbeaten after only losing 6 wkts in 5 games and now visit Kirkburton in the Quarter final.

30/5 v Armitage Bridge

Opposition failed to appear but points gained put team top of the table.

23/5 v Delph

On a hot morning at Delph, Meltham fielded first and performed as if still half asleep as Delph raced to 47-2 after 6 overs. Against the grain of the general fielding there were 2 key run outs, this took the momentum from the innings and it tailed away to finish 88 all out with 2 wickets each to Jack Hinchliffe, Sam Clegg and Joe Townend. In reply Meltham batted almost faultlessly as Gregg Cooke and Chris Hinchliffe took the score to 39-0 after 10 overs before accelerating to complete a 10 wicket win in the 16th over. Retirements for Greg Cooke, Chris Hinchliffe, Ashley Smallwood and Alec Jakeman helped the final 20 over total to 123-1, the only blemish being Sam Clegg's dismissal from the final ball.

16/5 Upper Hopton at home (Cup 1st round)

Again batting first Meltham reached 92-0 after 10 overs before finally totalling 158-1. Five retirements from Gregg Cooke, Chris Hinchliffe, Alec Jakeman, Sam Clegg and Jack Hinchliffe were all at better than a run a ball. The pick of them was from Sam in his 1st innings of the season.

Upper Hopton were never likely to threaten this total but worse came when they slumped to 30-8 before finishing on 51 all out off the last ball to the 4th run out of the innings. Wickets came from Joe Townend (3-4),Sam Turner (2-7) and Jack Hinchliffe (1-1) with James Sunderland bowling well again to only concede 2 from 3 overs. A good start to the season so far with 3 wins and only 4 wickets lost in 3 games but tougher test are to come.

9/5 Denby Dale at home

Retirements from Gregg Cooke and Chris Hinchliffe took Metham to 55-0 in 11 overs before Alec Jakeman (26 in 10 balls) accelerated the innings as 40 were added in 3 overs before not out innings from Hollie Armitage and George Kenworthy gave a final total of 126-2.

Despite being 77-2 in 11 overs, Denby Dale never looked like getting the total and after exellent spells from Jack Hinchliffe (2-4) and U10 James Sunderland on debut (1-3) they were left requiring 31 from the last over from Henry Wise, who took a wicket on debut, but despite two 6's they finished 16 short on 110-5.

2/5 Rastrick away

Meltham batted first and after losing Chris Hinchliffe to the 4th ball of the game they proceded to a reasonable score of 108 without losing another wicket, with retirements from Greg Cooke, Ashley Smallwood and Alec Jakeman.

The Rastrick reply began well and at 72-0 after 12 overs they were looking in a comfortable position. With 9 required from 3 overs it looked all over but after hitting a four their third batsman had to retire leaving two new batsmen to get 5 from the last two overs. The field came in to save singles as both batsmen didn't look like beating the field. A tight over from Joe Bingham conceded two leaving 3 required from Joe Townends last over.
A wicket second ball and a single from a dropped catch on the 5th left one to tie and two to win from the last ball. A mix up between the batters left them both at the same end looking confused but the ball was still not dead and after some encouragement it was thrown to the bowlers end for a run out and an unlikely one run win for Meltham.
